Robot vacuums and mops are increasingly adept, passing our tests of cleaning and tackling different types of floors. Choose models that allow users to select between different modes, self-empty and clean stairs.
A lot of the top models are compatible with smartphones. Look for an application that lets you save maps, schedules, and choose cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
The black and gloss gunmetal Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is among the most impressive mop and robot vacuum combos available. It uses lidar to navigate, create maps of floors and rooms (even multiple levels) and is compatible with the free Eufy Clean app to let you set schedules and alter the S1's behaviour.
The S1 was able to map my downstairs quickly, which has linoleum flooring in the dining area, kitchen and bathrooms and a medium-pile and a large rug. It was capable of driving close to walls and even cross raised thresholds without any problems. However it had some issues getting down the stairs in one pass. The S1 did a good job cleaning hard floors. Its mop drove smoothly on its flat side and swung up when it was near carpets or carpets.
Prior to each mopping session the docking station of the S1 automatically empties its dustbin and refills the water tank onboard with clean ozonated filtered water. The dock adds an extra-deep cleaning solution to the water. The S1 water tank can hold enough for 12 mopping sessions, however this will vary depending on the frequency you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots, the S1 requires regular maintenance to keep it working efficiently. To do this, you'll need to wash the dirty water tank occasionally to keep it from becoming clogged. It is also necessary to clean the swivel wheels and sensors regularly to prevent them from getting blocked by dust or dirt. Overall, the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-one robot vacuum and mop combo from Ecovacs is a reliable option to meet your cleaning needs. The robot vacuum is rated at 8,700Pa of suction, and comes with many innovative features, such as full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning that avoids obstacles and cleans furniture. The mopping feature is impressive, with rotating mops that actually lift and scrub the floor, rather than simply dragging the pad across it. Mops can also be dried and cleaned at the base station if needed.
This robot combination is simple to set up and use, with a simple interface that guides you through the procedure. It comes with a rechargeable hand vacuum for those areas that the robot isn't able to reach, as well as two water tanks that are automatically emptied and refilled when needed. The mops can also be cleaned with heated water, and dried in the base station as required. Mops can also be replenished at the top of the station when needed.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was released earlier this year. But their new flagship model has even more impressive features. It delivers outstanding cleaning results and is simple to maintain. This makes it a worthy contender for our top list of robot vacuums and mop. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition, and an extended side brush will give you a thorough, customised clean.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, removing fine and large debris from hard floors as well as carpets. It also cleaned our test's most filthy areas well, and keeping pet hairs from getting caught in knots and other mess. The sweeping power is enhanced by an additional side brush that automatically extends to reach hard-to-reach corners, and an extending mop pad that is placed along baseboards.

A robot vacuum does a great job of picking up dirt and debris but it's not always able to reach every last particle of dust. It's important to vacuum frequently, every week. This is especially true for dust that builds up in corners, on shelves and in crevices in your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that vacuums and mops, is designed to do just that. It's easy to connect it to your WiFI network at home and works with Alexa or Apple Siri.
The Q5 is a stripped-down version of the more expensive models in the S-series from the company, which includes the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It uses the same LIDAR mapping sensors, but it's cheaper since it doesn't come with mopping capabilities, and also has a plastic body.
Even though it's not able to mop floors, the Q5 still has the best vacuum and mopping performance we've seen on a robot at this price. It's got a powerful suction power of 5500Pa and an automatic emptying system, which means you don't need to empty the bin manually every time. It also features a smart app that lets you select your floor type and schedule cleanings, and an automatic water tank refill and wash system to allow hands-free operation.
Its mops are also awe-inspiring with 2700Pa of power to tackle dirt, dust and pet hair on hard floors and carpets. The Q5 was among the few robots we tested to not have a problem with high-pile area rugs and carpets. However, it did not remove kitty-poop or cable tangles. This isn't a surprise as it doesn't have AI-powered obstacle-avoidance features.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is one of the quietest robovacs we have tested, it also has a unique method to map your home, which really helps it get into corners and tight spaces that other vacuums are unable to reach. The device also collects dust in a larger dustbin which means you need to empty it less often. It also has washable filters which further reduces costs. The robot can also recognize carpets and increase suction if required. The app also allows you to mark off areas you want to stay clear of, which is a nice feature.
